It's a conversation, not an assessment. You talk about what brought you in and what you'd like to be different, and you get a feel for whether working together makes sense. You don't need a diagnosis or a prepared explanation beforehand.

Primarily college students and young adults — including students at Northwestern, the University of Chicago and other Chicagoland universities — for anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, relationships, academic stress, identity and self-esteem, and life transitions.

You reach out and tell us what's going on. We talk it through and work out whether we're a good fit for what you need. If we are, we check your insurance, settle on a time that works, and tell you your copay or rate — all before your first session. You'll know what you're paying before you sit down, not after.

Then you say so, and we help you find someone who is. Starting with a therapist doesn't commit you to staying with them, and telling us it isn't working is a normal part of the process, not an awkward one. If we're not the right practice for what you need, we'd rather point you somewhere that is.

Yes. You can meet entirely by secure video from anywhere in Illinois, in person at one of our Chicagoland offices, or a mix of both — whichever fits your term and your schedule.

We see clients in Evanston, Chicago and Palatine. Virtual sessions are available across Illinois.

We're in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Aetna. That includes the Northwestern student plan (NU-SHIP, which runs on Aetna) and the University of Chicago student plan (U-SHIP, which runs on UnitedHealthcare Student Resources). If your plan isn't one of those, send us the details and we'll tell you where you stand before you book.

If you're using insurance, what you pay is set by your plan — usually a copay or whatever your deductible leaves. If you're out of network or paying privately, sessions are $200 to $250. We'll confirm the exact figure with you before your first session, so nothing on the bill is a surprise.

Yes for the two biggest ones. Northwestern's NU-SHIP runs on Aetna and UChicago's U-SHIP runs on UnitedHealthcare Student Resources, and we're in network with both. If you're at another Chicagoland school, send us your plan details and we'll check it for you.

If you're paying privately — either because you're uninsured or because you've chosen not to use your benefits — you have the right to a written estimate of what your care will cost before it starts. It's called a Good Faith Estimate, and it comes from the No Surprises Act. We'll give you one automatically when we schedule, and you can ask for one at any point, including before you book anything. If a final bill comes in $400 or more above the estimate, you have the right to dispute it.
